Electronic metronome
====================
This is an electronic metronome. It gives a sound ... times a minute.
Options:
* R=RATE/N - how many times a minute the sound is made. Valid range: 40 - 216,
just like a real metronome. Default 80.
* SF=SOUNDFILE - name of file for sample. Default 'PROGDIR:Metronoom.SND'.
* SR=SOUNDRATE/N - sampling rate for sample. Higher values will make the
sample sound higher, and shorter. Default 10000.
* RIGHT/S - prefer a right audio-channel. Default left.
* TF=TEMPOFILE - file with the names for the tempos. The default is in the
catalog file, or the builtin strings. In the English locale it is
"PROGDIR:Tempo_Names.ENG", and in the Dutch one "PROGDIR:Tempo_Namen.NL".
If the file cannot be found, the builtin strings and values are used.
Example:
>>> CUT HERE
These are the default values.
-> 40 - 60
40 Slow
-> 61 - 90
61 Moderate slow
-> 91 - 120
91 Moderate
-> 121 - 160
121 Moderate fast
-> 161 - 216
161 Fast
>>> CUT HERE
All lines not starting with a number in the range 40-216 are comment lines.
Invalid tempo files are ignored without an error message.
GUI:
The GUI is done with EasyGUI, supplied with AmigaE. No MUI :-).
Gadgets:
* Rate - corresponds to the option RATE.
* Tempo - name of the tempo. I haven't got the Italian names yet.
* Delay - delay between ticks
* Quit - Press this button to exit the program.
Warning:
Do not make the sample too long. The next stroke can only be made when the
sample has finished.
Localization:
This program is localized. It has already been translated in Dutch.
To translate it in another language, do the following:
* Make a drawer "your language" in the catalogs drawer.
* Copy the Metronome_empty.ct file to the drawer.
* Translate the strings in the catalog file.
* Use CatComp: CatComp catalogs/Metronome.cd >>
catalog=catalogs/<language>/metronome.catalog
* Create a tempo file. The name is defined in the translation.
* Send the translation to me, so I can include it in the next version.
* Finished!
